Granite & Son

Rebrand for a third-generation groundworks firm. Heavy, plain, and proud of the dirt rather than apologising for it.

The brief

A self-set rebrand for a third-generation groundworks firm. Groundworks is the least glamorous trade on any site and the one everything else depends on. What if the brand said that out loud?

What we found

  • 01Construction brands hide the dirt behind renders of finished buildings.
  • 02Sixty years of family trading is the strongest asset in the business and it was buried in an About page.
  • 03The people who hire groundworks contractors want price, plant and availability, not a mission statement.

A note on labelling

Self-initiated. Granite & Son is not a real company and nobody commissioned this.
